OUR 2-DAY SITE MANAGEMENT SAFETY TRAINING SCHEME REFRESHER COURSE
If your CITB SMSTS Site Safety Plus certificate is about to expire, take this interactive refresher course to renew your qualification. Through a range of case studies, classroom discussions, presentations and group activities, you will top up your existing skills, and learn about brand new subject areas and industry changes.
OBJECTIVES:
By the end of this course, delegates will be up-to-speed on the most recent health, safety, welfare and environmental legislation relevant to their roles. Building on their prior knowledge, they will also be able to effectively implement new guidance and industry best practice, and have an in-depth understanding of their responsibilities with regards to health and safety, welfare and the environment.
DURATION:
This two-day course will be delivered by our CITB-accredited tutors.
COURSE CONTENT:
DAY 1 WILL INCLUDE:
- Regulation update and overview
- Fire prevention and overview
- Topics from the floor
- Risk assessments
- Exercise 1
DAY 2 WILL INCLUDE:
- CDM Regulations 2015
- Accident reporting, investigation, prevention & control
- Management of health on site
- Behavioural-based safety
- Drugs and alcohol misuse
- Exercise 2
ASSESSMENT / CERTIFICATE:
Delegates will be assessed throughout the course using individual and group exercises, as well as a multiple-choice test at the end. Once they’ve successfully completed the course, they will be awarded a CITB Site Safety Plus certificate. This qualification can be renewed every five years by taking this course again.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:
This course is designed for site managers, agents and people who are, or are about to be, responsible for planning, organising, monitoring, controlling and administering staff. Delegates must have a good understanding of written and spoken English.
GRANTS:
Employers in the construction industry can apply for grants to put towards the cost of training.
