QST are delighted to announce our latest training Accreditation: the Safety Pass Alliance (SPA).
The SPA is responsible for designing and implementing the industry-recognised National Safety Passport Training Schemes, providing training and certification for a huge range of industries and works, included but not limited to: Construction, Building Maintenance, Petrol Forecourt Works, Food & Drink, Shipping, Warehousing and many more.
We are delighted to begin our journey as an SPA accredited provider by offering the following Safety Passports as part of our training lineup:
– SPA Core
– SPA Petrol Retail (Forecourt Contractors)
Joining our extensive list of training accreditations, the SPA Safety Passports provide necessary and informative insight within their respective specialisms; allowing employers and employees alike to demonstrate competency and the ability to work safely.
Did you know?
Whether it’s changing a lightbulb in-store, or performing maintenance on the pumps outside; ALL personnel undertaking work at a petrol station must hold a valid Safety Passport to prove competency to work within a live Petrol Station.
The Petrol Retail (Forecourt Contractors) qualification is just one example of the broad spectrum of coverage a Safety Passport can provide to work within your industry.
Safety Passports are nationally recognised industrial training tools which offer a practical grounding in core Health and Safety Awareness Training, and further specialisms for the needs of different industries.
Safety Passports allow you to prove your basic health and safety credentials and competency.
Regardless of industry, an SPA Safety Passport is an invaluable way of brushing up on the most up-to-date and rigorous safety standards for your work – as well as providing a nationally-recognised qualification that proves your competency-to-work to potential clients.
Whether you are an independent contractor, boots on the ground, or looking to upskill a large workforce – the Safety Passport can even prove to be a necessity before personnel are even allowed onto an active site.
For example, all personnel undertaking work at a petrol station must hold a valid Safety Passport before undertaking work.
If you do not currently hold a valid Health and Safety qualification, you must first complete the SPA Core course which takes 1 day.
Once you have earned the SPA Core (or equivalent), the Petrol Retail course also takes one day to complete.
The course involves approximately 6 hours of contact time per day, including the exams.
Whilst neither the Core nor the Petrol Retail courses can be conducted remotely*, we are able to provide the training both Nationwide (on request) or at our Ashburton Training Hub for your convenience.
Please refer to the “Booking my Safety Passport Course” tab for info on how to book.
*The Petrol Retail refresher course is an exception, as this can be conducted online.
There is no set time limit for the completion of the assessments, however:
All assessments MUST be conducted in exam conditions:-
No talking throughout until all delegates have completed their assessment, clear desk policy,
completed in pen and papers are collected and marked by the tutor.
If a delegate requires the question to be made clear by the tutor – this is fine, as long as the question is not answered by any rephrasing.
The pass mark for all assessments is 80%.
There are four different papers for each modular assessment. Paper A, B, C, D.
If a delegate fails one paper, they are eligible for one (1) retake, of a different paper.
Quality Safety Training is now accepting bookings for both the Core and Petrol Retail SPA assessments.
You can already book or register interest over phone and email, using the following details to get in touch with the team:
