Quality Safety Training Ltd’s Basic Scaffold Inspection Awareness course is designed for individuals who have a responsibility for carrying out basic scaffold inspections in the workplace in accordance with TG20:21.
The course is suitable for a range of site-based personnel, including:
The training provides delegates with an understanding of scaffold components, their purpose and contribution to scaffold stability, relevant legislation and guidance, and the principles involved in carrying out a basic scaffold inspection.
Important Information Regarding Competence
Completion of this course should not be interpreted as automatically authorising or qualifying a delegate to undertake statutory scaffold inspections, sign scaffold inspection tags or complete scaffold handover certificates.
It remains the responsibility of the employer to establish whether an individual is competent to undertake specific inspection duties. This assessment should take account of the person's training, knowledge and experience, together with the type, condition and complexity of the scaffold they are expected to inspect.
If you are unsure whether the Basic Scaffold Inspection Awareness course is appropriate for your particular role or workplace requirements, please contact Quality Safety Training Ltd before booking.
Quality Safety Training Ltd also offers the course through live interactive online learning, providing an alternative for individuals who are unable to attend classroom-based training.
The online programme is delivered by an experienced Quality Safety Training Ltd tutor using Zoom video conferencing. Delegates can therefore participate in a live training environment from their home or workplace.
Online Course Format
Please be aware that the online version does not include a practical scaffold inspection session.
Consequently, the online course may have a shorter duration than an equivalent face-to-face course. The actual duration can vary depending on the experience of the delegates and the time required for questions, discussion and clarification.
Full Attendance Requirement
Delegates are required to attend the entire training session to successfully complete the course.
A stable internet connection is essential. Where a delegate experiences a prolonged loss of connection, or repeatedly disconnects during the session, the trainer may be unable to permit them to rejoin if the connection cannot be restored within approximately five minutes. This is necessary to minimise disruption to other learners.
Accessing Your Online Training
Online training is delivered via Zoom. Once your booking has been confirmed, Quality Safety Training Ltd will provide the relevant joining information and your personalised meeting link.
We recommend downloading and familiarising yourself with Zoom before the training session.

The course is intended to provide awareness and knowledge of scaffold inspection requirements.
