In addition to our existing range of Banksman training, QST is proud to announce capacity for EUSR certified Excavator Banksperson training – offered Nationwide!
We are delighted to offer our new range of EUSR Certified courses, enabling you and/or your staff to understand the risks associated with Mechanical Excavators, identify appropriate use cases, and undertake work safely.
Below is an overview of the skills you and your team can expect to gain:
– A comprehensive understanding of mechanical excavators and their use cases, to ensure safe operation and appropriate use of the machinery.
– A sound understanding of pre-excavation Protocols: ensuring all checks are completed to the required standard before ground is broken.
– Familiarity with the equipment, Method Statements, Risk Assessments, and Permits to Work to ensure seamless operations.
– The use and maintenance of relevant PPE, including appropriate attire.
– You will establish correct communication signals and emergency procedures, and so no one is left out of the loop.
– Hands-on Risk Awareness experience:
You will undertake both a General Risk Awareness, for the purposes of identifying potential excavation risks and learning how to minimise them, as well as recognising the risks associated with excavating near underground services, and learning to adopt safe digging practices.

“What is Banksman/Banksperson training?”
Banksperson (commonly referred to as Banksman) training provides theoretical and practical experience, supporting a Banksperson to conduct their works safely. On sites where cranes/excavators/ other large vehicles are used to transport loads, the Banksperson is the individual responsible for directing the operation from the point near where loads are attached and detached.
“What is EUSR?”
The Energy & Utility Skills Register (EUSR) serves as the digital repository for training and skill records in the energy and utilities sectors.
Those who have completed EUSR training and/or assessments have these accomplishments documented in their EUSR registration. Additionally, qualifications and authorisations are occasionally included in the record.
An individual’s EUSR registration may encompass multiple scheme registrations, each with distinct expiration dates. Delegate EUSR ID numbers and photo ID cards are assigned to individuals, featuring current endorsements and expiry dates for easy reference.
“What is an EUSR card?”
The EUSR card is official recognition of your EUSR certification.
“How do I get my EUSR card?”
The EUSR card is given to delegates upon completion of relevant training.
Similar to the CSCS and CPSC cards, EUSR cards are seen as proof of competency as they are only awarded after successful completion of a course.
Each card is has a different colour, each colour will represent your qualification level, and occupation.
