ASBESTOS AWARENESS TRAINING

ASBESTOS AWARENESS TRAINING:

Asbestos is responsible for killing over 5,000 workers each year. To keep this number from rising, it’s crucial that workers are in-the-know about its dangers. So if you are, or are liable to be, exposed to asbestos at work, (or even if you oversee employees who are) you’re required by law to complete Asbestos Awareness training, under regulation 10 of the Control of Asbestos
Regulations.

OBJECTIVES:

After completing this training, delegates will know how to identify asbestos and how to avoid disturbing it.* They will also be fully informed on the dangers and health risks caused by asbestos exposure.

DURATION:

This half-day course lasts around three hours, and is held by our highly-experienced tutors.

• What is asbestos?
• Health issues surrounding asbestos
• Where to find asbestos
• Asbestos Containing Materials (ACMs) by type
• Asbestos register and surveys
• What to do if you discover asbestos
• Legislation

CERTIFICATION AND ASSESSMENT:

At the end of the course, delegates will be assessed using a multiple-choice exam paper. Once they reach the 80% pass mark, delegates will be awarded a QST certificate which is valid for one year.

*This course will not provide delegates with the knowledge of how to work with/remove asbestos. It only gives them information on how to avoid coming into contact with asbestos.
