The CPCS A09 Forward Tipping Dumper Course for Experienced Operators is ideal for any dumper operator who needs to gain a recognised training certificate to operate a dumper on site.
Objectives:
The FTD course run by Quality Safety Training provides delegates with instruction in the correct operation of forward tipping dumpers. The A09 course is accredited by the Construction Plant Competence Scheme (CPCS) which is a widely recognised plant training certification scheme.
Delegates who have had previous experience of operating forward tipping dumpers will need to attend one day of training before taking their test on a separate day.
Quality Safety Training’s tutors all have industry experience so will be able to effectively teach delegates the requirements of both the theory and practical elements of the dumper. Both of which need to be passed in order for a CPCS card to be issued.

- Legal responsibilities of employer’s and employee’s
- Pre-use inspection
- Basic maintenance techniques
- Hazards associated with the use of dumpers
- How to reverse correctly
- How to operate the dumper safely
- Towing of items
- Both swivel dumpers and high tip dumpers are explained

Completion of the Course:
Delegates will need to take a verbal theory test and complete a practical assessment on the forward tipping dumper.
Successful delegates will receive a red CPCS Trained Operator card which is valid for 2 years.
This red card is not renewable, so delegates must ensure that they complete a level 2 NVQ within the 2 years so that they can move on to the blue Competent Operator card.
Prerequisites:
All delegates must have a basic understanding and knowledge of current health and safety practices.
Delegates must have taken and passed the touch screen Health, Safety and Environment test within the previous 2 years.
