Find CPCS A09 Forward Tipping Dumper Novice Training Course in Bridgwater

To be able to operate a forward tipping dumper on site, you will need to have attended a recognised plant training scheme and hold a plant training card.

Objectives:

If you have never operated a forward tipping dumper before, then you will need to take a 3-day novice course that will give you the correct level of training and support to enable you to begin to operate this machine safely on site.

The CPCS (Construction Plant Competence Scheme) offers this course and CPCS is one of the most widely recognised schemes for plant training within the construction industry.

What Does the Course Cover:

There are both theoretical and practical elements of dumper operation and the CPCS novice A09 course will train delegates on both.

  • Legal responsibilities of employer’s and employee’s
  • Pre-use inspection
  • Basic maintenance techniques
  • Hazards associated with the use of dumpers
  • How to reverse correctly
  • How to operate the dumper safely
  • Towing of items
  • Both swivel dumpers and high tip dumpers are explained

What Does the Exam Consist of:

The exam consists of 2 parts:

    • Verbal theory test
    • Practical assessment

Delegates must pass both exam elements in order to pass.  If a delegate fails the theory test, they will not be permitted to do the practical assessment.  Therefore, proper training is key.

Once delegates have achieved a pass in both tests, they will receive a CPCS red Trained Operator card for A09 Forward Tipping Dumper.

This red card will remain valid for 2 years and is not renewable, so delegates must ensure that they complete a level 2 NVQ within the 2 years so that they can move on to the blue Competent Operator card.

    Prerequisites:

All delegates must have a basic understanding and knowledge of current health and safety practices.

Delegates must have taken and passed the touch screen Health, Safety and Environment test within the previous 2 years.
