EUSR Category 1 in Devon Training Course

The primary focus of this training initiative is to empower individuals with the essential competencies to identify utility services proficiently and securely via authorised detection methods. The course curriculum will entail thorough instruction on the operation of the CAT (Cable Avoidance Tool) and Genny equipment, facilitated through engaging presentations and practical evaluations. Upon completion of the programme, participants will have acquired the aptitude and proficiency required to competently execute their responsibilities with self-assurance and precision.

EUSR Category 1

Who is EUSR?

The EUSR is an advanced digital platform that caters to the records of training and expertise for experts serving in the energy and utilities fields. Those who have successfully accomplished EUSR training and/or assessment on any of our schemes have their accomplishments securely listed on their EUSR registration, which may include their qualifications and authorisations. Each candidate’s EUSR record may have several scheme registrations carrying different expiry dates. Once an individual’s registration is complete, they are issued a unique EUSR ID number and a photo ID card exhibiting their present endorsements and expiry dates. As an integral part of the Energy & Utility Skills Group, EUSR provides a comprehensive, dependable resource for professionals engaged in the energy and utilities sectors.

Who Needs a EUSR Category 1 Card

The Category 1 certification provided by EUSR Locate Utility Services is an effective tool for individuals who work with utility drawings, handle location equipment for identifying underground services, or need to be aware of the potential risks associated with underground services. This certification is especially advantageous for managers, supervisors, safety professionals, and operatives who handle underground service detection devices. By acquiring this certification, individuals can significantly reduce the risks and dangers associated with working with underground services, thereby creating a safer work environment for themselves and their colleagues.

What is an EUSR Card?

If your profession involves water, power, or gas, it is likely that you will need to obtain an EUSR card. This card is exclusively for utility workers and is an alternative to the CSCS (Construction Skills Certification Scheme) card. Although it does grant entry to construction sites, it is restricted to utility workers only. This ensures that those who possess the required qualifications and expertise are the only ones who can perform their job duties on these sites. Once you complete the necessary training and meet the requisite standards, you will receive an EUSR card that will remain valid for three years.

How Long is a EUSR Card Valid?

The EUSR card is specifically designed for utility workers, allowing them to perform their duties effectively. On the other hand, the CSCS card is meant for construction workers who require it to execute their tasks. It’s worth noting that CSCS cards have a validity period of five years, while EUSR cards can be valid for three to five years, depending on the courses completed.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

This course can be combined with Category 2 Implement Safe (Digging) Excavating Practices to make a 1 1/2 day course.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:

Delegates must be able to read and understand English.

GRANTS:

For CITB registered companies, £140pp grant can be claimed back on successful completion of the course.
