OBJECTIVES:
NPORS is now becoming as widely recognised as CPCS (Construction Plant Certification Scheme).
The NPORS novice forward tipping dumper course offered by Quality Safety Training is so convenient, it can be carried out at Clients premises, as long as there is enough space!
There are both theoretical and practical elements of dumper operation and the NPORS novice N204 forward tipping dumper course being run by Quality Safety Training will train delegates on both.
What are the learning outcomes:
Quality Safety Training’s experienced trainers will ensure that all delegates:

- Have a basic understanding of the construction industry including the dangers the industry poses and what their responsibilities are as an operator
- Understand the specific health and safety legislation that relates to them as a forward tipping dumper operator
- Understand the manufacturers handbook for the forward tipping dumper
- Know what all the controls of the forward tipping dumper are
- Can identify what PPE they need to be wearing on the dumper and how to maintain it
- Know how to conduct all pre-operational and running checks as laid out in legislation and the manufacturers instructions
- Understand how to prepare the forward tipping dumper for use and operate it safely and efficiently
- Can attach and set trailed / mounted attachments
- Know how to shut down and secure the dumper at the end of the day

What is the exam:
The exam comes in two parts:
- Multiple choice theory test
- Practical assessment
Delegates must pass both exam elements to pass.
What certification / card will I get:
Once delegates have achieved a pass in both tests, they will receive an NPORS traditional plant operator card for N204 Forward Tipping Dumper. This card is valid for either 3 or 5 years depending on sector or company specific requirements.
Delegates that require a CSCS embossed red Trained Operator card will need to have taken and passed the operatives touch screen Health, Safety and Environment test within the previous 2 years.
This red card will remain valid for 2 years and is not renewable, so delegates must ensure that they complete a level 2 NVQ within the 2 years so that they can move on to the blue Competent Operator card which is valid for 5 years.
Prerequisites:
All delegates must have a basic understanding and knowledge of current health and safety practices.
Delegates must also have a good understanding of spoken and written English, although translators can be used.
